Overview
The Gainesville Housing Authority (GHA) is committed to transparency and complies with Florida’s Public Records Law (Chapter 119, Florida Statutes). Members of the public may request access to agency records unless the records are exempt or confidential under state law.


How to Make a Public Records Request
You may request public records in person, by phone, by email, or by mail. Requests are not required to be in writing, and you are not required to provide your name or explain why you are requesting records.

Processing Time & Fees

  • Requests are processed in the order received.
  • Charges may apply if extensive staff time or large copies are required.
  • You will be notified in advance of any costs.

Exemptions
Some records are confidential or exempt from disclosure under Florida law. If a record cannot be released, you will be informed of the specific legal exemption.
